Into the Unknown
Every dungeon hides more than just the objective. Push through fog covered rooms, stumble upon secret chambers, cross paths with wandering NPCs and face events that can change the course of a run. Monsters lurk around every corner.
Your objective waits somewhere in the dark. Kill the commander, protect the civilians, find the treasure, interrupt the ritual. Find it fast or pay the price.
The Swarm is Getting Stronger
Every turn, every enemy in the game grows stronger. Permanently. There is no reset between skirmishes or acts.
Let it build too long and you will feel it. Monsters hit harder, fights take longer and suddenly cautious play is no longer an option. You start taking risks you would not normally take. Some pay off. Some do not.
Shape your Heroes
Spells and items collected throughout the run define what each hero becomes. Defeat a boss and pick the class your build needs.
Your Conscript might end up an unbreakable General absorbing every hit, a Berserker dealing more damage the closer to death they are, or the Surgeon keeping everyone alive at the last second. Every run reveals a new way to break the game.
Rebuild the Town
The village that sends expeditions into the dark is barely standing. What comes back from each run helps rebuild it. Watch it rise from ruins as you complete challenges to unlock new classes, spells, items and permanent upgrades. Each unlock carries into every future run.
Humanity survives because some choose to endure. They are the Forborne.
